Boys Coaches

Ashley Schinzing

Director and 18 Black Head Coach
 

Ashley has a well-rounded, diversified background in volleyball with experience as a coach, director, administrator, referee, and as a player. In 2010, she was promoted from Assistant Director of Orlando Gold Boys Volleyball to a Director of the club. Ashley has coached for OG since 2008, and for OVA now OTVA since 2009. The Florida Region awarded Ashley the Club Director of the year in 2018.

In 2008, 2011 and 2012, she had the proud honor of coaching her boys team to an AAU National Championship. 2014 & 2016 added 2nd Place finishes at AAU Nationals and a 3rd Place finish in 2021. 2016 brought a 2nd Place finish in 16’s at the USAV Boys’ Junior National Championships.

Her coaching experience, also includes eight years at Olympia High School coaching in both the boys’ and girls’ program with 2 District Championships as the Boys Varsity Head Coach.

In addition to coaching, Ashley was recruited while playing for OVA to Mississippi College as Outside Hitter, Libero.

Ashley is also a member of the Florida Region High Performance Coaching Staff. Her 9 years in the HP program has produced 2 Gold Medals, 2 Silver Medal, and 2 Bronze Medals for the Florida Region.


Tom Snodgrass

15 Black & 18 BLACK Assistant Coach
 

Tom Snodgrass has been a coach for Orlando Gold since 2002. Tom graduated from Bishop Moore Catholic High School where he also assisted the girls program and was the boys’ varsity head coach for 10 years. Tom played volleyball at the collegiate level for Webber University. During his coaching career Tom has won seven State Championships, 3 AAU Boys National Championships, a 2nd place finish in the 2016 USAV Boys 16 club division and a top 10 finish in USAV Boy’s Junior National Open Division. For the past six years Tom has coached for the Team Florida High Performance program, taking home two Gold Medals and one Bronze Medal at the High Performance Championships. 


Amber Schinzing

14 Black & 16 Gold Head Coach
 

Amber Schinzing is starting her 7th season with Orlando Gold. Last year, Amber’s Orlando Gold 17 Black team was the 2019 17U AAU National Champions. Before this season, Amber coached two seasons collegiately as the assistant coach with the Men’s volleyball team at North Greenville University and as the assistant coach with the Women’s program at Wofford College. Prior to that, she was the graduate assistant for Harding University Women’s Volleyball Program. She also coached with Olympia High School Boys’  Volleyball for two years.
Schinzing played four years as a setter at Harding University and earned several all-conference and tournament honors. She led her team to an undefeated season and a conference championship while being named to the all-conference team. Amber was named the Female Scholar-Athlete of the year for the Great American Conference in 2012.
Amber has played organized volleyball since she was 13, both club and high school. She respectfully lettered all four years at The First Academy and Olympia High School. On the beach circuit, she qualified and earned second place at the 2009 AAU National Beach Volleyball Tournament in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Amber holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise and Sports Science and a Masters in Business Administration.

Maureen Del Rossi

17 Black Head Coach
 

Coach Mo grew-up in Colorado and started playing volleyball at age 11 with Front Range Volleyball Club and later with Boulder VBC. She attended California State University Sacramento (Sacramento State) where she was a four-year starter at setter (1996-1999) for the Hornets helping her team to three NCAA appearances (1997, 1998, 1999). During her collegiate playing career, Mo was named Big Sky Conference Freshman of the Year (1996), First Team All Conference (1997, 1998, 1999), Big Sky Conference tournament MVP (1998, 1999), Big Sky Conference regular season MVP (1999) and California State University Sacramento Female Athlete of the Year (1999).
She is currently ranked 4th in Division I history with 6,520 career assists and 19th all-time with 13.26 per set career average assists (Maureen Rafferty). In 2010, Mo was inducted into Sacramento State’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
Coach Mo is no stranger to working with junior athletes. She has coached for USAV junior clubs within the Northern California, Garden Empire, Old Dominion and New England regions.
In addition to working with junior athletes, Mo has also had the opportunity to coach at the Division I level. Before taking over as Head Coach at Seton Hall University, she served as the first assistant and was elected by her peers as the Big East AVCA Assistant coaches committee representative. Most recently she worked with the Mens Division I program at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield CT.
For more than a decade, Coach Mo has also worked with athletes of all ages as a Certified Personal Trainer with additional certifications in Performance Enhancement (PES), Corrective Exercise (CES), Fitness Nutrition (FNS) , Behavior Change (BCS) and Group training (GPTS) earned through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

Graham started playing volleyball at 13 years old. He played four years of club volleyball for both Orlando Gold and Top Select Volleyball Academy. He graduated from Boone High School in 2020, where he was a captain and letterman. This will be his third year coaching with Orlando Gold, and his second as a head coach. Graham currently attends the University of Central Florida, where he is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing with a minor in Sports Business Management.

Omi Fuentes

Training Coach

 

Omi started playing volleyball when he was 12 years old. At 14 he participated in the USA Boys Junior National Championships, finishing in 3rd place. He also played for his high school volleyball team, winning different invitational tournaments, including the National Championship of Public Schools in Puerto Rico. When he graduated, he was awarded with a Leadership medal. After graduation from high school, he received a full scholarship at the University of Puerto Rico in Bayamon. During his years of eligibility, he played on the volleyball team until he graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Adapted Physical Education. Omi has 8 years of coaching experience working with development teams and high performance teams from youth to professional categories, school programs, and private clubs.

His experience as a private club coach started at Toa Alta Queens Volleyball Club where he worked with girls teams, achieving some championships in local tournaments and a National Circuit Championship in the 9U category. He also worked with developing teams in 12u, 13u, 15u, and 16u. Then he moved to NV Elite Club in Naranjito, where he worked with boys and girls teams in 13u, 14u, 15u, 18u, 20u and 23u. He won different championship and runner-up awards in the most recognized tournaments in Puerto Rico and the USA like the Spring Volleyball Championship, Power League, National Circuit, Federation Cup, Volifest, Jeep Volleyball Championship and the USAV Jr. Olympics. After moving to the U.S., Omi worked at Nona Sports with a girls 13U local team, a girls 15U regional team, and a boys 14U regional team. Those teams had some 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishes at different tournaments.

Omi has also worked with several school volleyball programs. He started working with the high school boys volleyball team in Naranjito as an assistant coach, ending the school year with some championship and runner-up finishes. The following year he was the head coach, leading to some championship and runner-up finishes in invitational tournaments. Omi was also recognized by the organizers of La Copa El Nuevo Día, the most important event at the school level. This exhibition helped 6 of the 7 senior students to receive a scholarship to college. Then he went on to work at Santa Teresita Academy as an assistant coach for a couple of years as well as head coach, working with the boys teams from the categories of mini all the way to seniors which resulted

in multiple championships. In the USA, he participated as a volunteer for the girls volleyball team at Sun Ridge Middle School, helping them reach a second place finish in the county. Omi also had the opportunity to work at the Puerto Rico professional level with Los Changos de Naranjito and Los Palataneros de Corozal as a statistical tracker and at the semi-professional level with Las Pinkin de Corozal as an assistant coach and a head coach.
